ZIN Focus Area
Overview
Women represent 52% of Zambia's population but remain disproportionately affected by poverty and underemployment. In 2024, over 20,000 GBV cases were reported. ZIN deploys specialized human resources to women-led organizations for business mentoring, psychological support, and digital literacy.
Key Challenges
Persistent gender pay gap and barriers to leadership in formal sector
Cultural norms preventing land ownership despite 50% policy quota
Only 15–20% of reported GBV criminal cases reach conviction
How ZIN Helps
Placing interns in Finance, Marketing, Social Work, and IT to mentor women cooperatives, support GBV shelters, and bridge the digital divide.
Success Indicator
Economic Agency Index (tracking women who launch or grow a business) and Justice Reach (legal aid cases resolved).
